OFFSHORE / INFORMATION
In 2005 Euro Demolition moved into the offshore market, realizing that our self- developed high-power cutting techniques could be successfully applied in removing wrecks in smaller pieces in contrast to the traditional techniques. We have shown that by making use of our own techniques we are better able to achieve a steady removal stream and are less dependent on adverse weather conditions.
Our working method is based on the same concept that we use in our onshore activities. With our modified excavator cranes we are able to work at great depths with cutting tools up to 15 tons thereby ensuring that we can cut through every sort of metal. The cut pieces are subsequently lifted out of the water with our heavy-duty mobile crawler cranes using large-sized orange peel grabs, and then cut into smaller pieces on the barge. During these operations we take care that the impact on the environment is minimized through usage of the oil pollution fighting equipment, including oil skimmers and oil absorbent booms, which form part of the standard onboard equipment of our specialized barge.
Since 2008 Euro Demolition is acting as a main contractor. Euro Demolition's wreck removal working method has been tested at many projects around the world, where we have applied it to full success, building an impressive track record in over 20 countries. The craft and equipment deployed has been customized specifically for this purpose and is fully tested, owned and maintained by us. Similarly, the personnel deployed have extensive experience with this craft and equipment.
